Tupuna Whanau Representatives (TWR)

The Tupuna Whanau Representatives (TWR) are descendants of the 251 Tupuna. The whanau of the Tupuna  nominate their representative and there can be only one representative per Tupuna.

A TWR provides a voice for the tupuna whanau represented, whom they also report to in respect of the affairs of the Trust. They play an intermediary role between the beneficiaries and the Trust Board; essentially the first point of communication between the two. Meetings of Tupuna Whanau Representatives

The Trustees generally hold at least four meetings of TWR in each calendar year (this may also include the Annual General Meeting). The purpose of these meetings is for the Trustees to apprise the TWR's of the affairs of the Trust and its business.

Currently the Trust office sends out reports and other such meeting material to the TWR along with a panui of upcoming hui 21 days prior to the set date. This information can then be reported via the TWR to their tupuna whanau accordingly.

It is vitally important that all contact details for the TWR are kept up-to-date in order for this necessary information to be received.
